Description
SAIC is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to serve as an IT technology integrator that utilizes networking hardware and virtual infrastructure to support customer networks. The successful candidate will work closely with the customer to continually evolve and integrate best practices for infrastructure provisioning, monitoring and deployment, and is expected to leverage a deep understanding of various operating systems, networking protocols and security practices to deliver complex and unique solutions to enable mission.
Qualifications
- Must currently hold a TS/SCI and Poly clearance to be considered
- Minimum of 9 years of relevant experience
- BS degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, IT (or other technical fields) or demonstrated equivalent experience
- Ability to work well in a dynamic environment with tight deadlines, evolving priorities, and the potential to conduct operational support in adverse working environments
- Knowledge of TCP/IP fundamentals (OSi model and IP subnetting basics)
- Experience implementing and deploying infrastructure and systems
- Ability to cultivate in-depth expertise in networking protocols, logging and troubleshooting
- Experience troubleshooting technical problems related to networking and virtualization technologies
- Familiarization with virtualization techniques and technologies
- Experience administering Linux and Windows servers
- Knowledge of IPv4 routing protocols, specifically OSPF
- Knowledge of and experience deploying and configuring current Cisco routing and switching devices
- Deep understanding and experience with network security, including hardening of servers and network devices
- Experience deploying and administering network security appliances, VPNs and encryption fundamentals (specifically IPSEC)
- A desire to create and innovate solutions in-house to address unique requirements
