  • A minimum of ten (10) years of related tactical network engineering experience.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer V to join our team, responsible for the design, integration, and maintenance of advanced tactical and strategic communication networks. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in military communications networks and a strong technical background to develop and implement cost-effective technical solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Testing, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of tactical network engineering experience in a military or similar environment.
  • Proven expertise in network design, integration, and troubleshooting.
  • Technical certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNP or similar) are preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Network Design & Planning: Design, plan, install, integrate, and maintain backbone core-area tactical and strategic communications networks, including elements of the Defense Information Systems Network (DISN) and the Global Information Grid (GIG).
  • Requirements Gathering: Gather requirements from users, Operational Need Statements, and Capability Production Documents (CPD) for Army’s tactical communications systems, translating them into standards-based and cost-efficient technical solutions.
  • Architecture Development: Develop network architecture for adjacent, higher, and lower units, as well as interfaces with allied nations, other government agencies, and commercial services.
  • Engineering & Integration: Lead the engineering design, development, integration, installation, operation, and maintenance of tactical networks. Support integration tasks involving Data/Voice/Video/Telephony within the Tactical Network.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Prepare technical documentation and assist in developing requirements, specifications, plans, and reports. Conduct independent assessments and provide systems engineering support.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical expertise in PM TN equipment labs, develop equipment and network configurations, and support technology insertion testing related to emerging network requirements and capabilities.
  • Virtualization & Storage Technologies: Utilize knowledge of virtualization and storage technologies, including VMware, EMC, NetApp, Microsoft, Dell, and HP.
  • Cisco Systems Expertise: Demonstrate proficiency with Cisco IOS and NXOS, Cisco ISE, Cisco UCS Networking and Configuration, and Cisco ASA. Utilize routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, RIP, EIGRP, and have experience with multicast, LANs, and VLANs.
  • VOIP & Protocol Analysis: Serve as a subject matter expert in VOIP, Cisco Call Manager, Call Manager Express, and Redcom Sigma Core. Conduct network protocol analysis using tools like Sniffer, Wireshark, or similar applications.
  • Collaboration & Field Support: Provide technical expertise at field locations as required and ensure effective collaboration with other teams and stakeholders.
