Responsibilities:
YOUR ROLE AT VEEZU:
Veezu is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Network Engineer to join our growing Technology Services team. In this role, you will manage and support our extensive network infrastructure, including switches, VPNs, and firewalls, with a particular focus on migrating to Unifi technology. This position involves working both on-premises undertaking physical activities such as site upgrades, builds or decommissions and cloud-based AWS/Azure networking solutions.
You will travel to various Veezu locations across the UK as needed, a company vehicle will be made available as needed with all expenses covered in line with company policy. It is expected that working away and travel will account for approximately 40% of the roles time.
When not engaged in project work, you will support day-to-day network operations via our ITSM ticketing system, manage relationships with network and communications suppliers, and assist with acquisitions, administration/documentation, web service migrations, and domain management.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Design, implement, and support network infrastructure across Veezu’s diverse environment, with a focus on Unifi technology including CCTV.
- Implement, configure and optimise network components such as switches, firewalls, VPNs, patching and network connectivity ensuring high availability, security, and performance across all locations.
- Maintain firewall security and oversee network traffic management to meet ISO27001 standards, ensuring data availability, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Monitor network performance, analyse traffic, and proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks or risks. Implement improvements and mitigations as required.
- Lead and deliver network-related projects, including upgrades, new deployments, migrations and expansion initiatives undertaking all aspects of deploying from build, cabling to implementation and post go live support.
- Collaborate with the Head of IT Operations to shape networking strategies that support operational efficiency and scalability.
- Document network architecture, procedures, and best practices to ensure consistent and reliable network management.
- Support company acquisitions by assisting with the integration and migration of network services across multiple locations.
- Manage communications services (mobile, networking, CCTV, door access) including suppliers’ relationships, ensuring that network service providers deliver effective cost-benefit and performance outcomes.
- Provide hands-on day to day support via the ITSM ticketing system, handling complex network issues and troubleshooting at all levels of business.
- Travel to various Veezu locations as needed providing on-site network support undertaking physical activities such as installations of CCTV camera, datacentre upgrades, Wi-Fi access point installations, etc.
- Apply updates and perform regular maintenance on networking equipment to ensure systems are current and secure in line with ISO27001 and Cyber Essentials Plus frameworks.
- Integrate new technologies into the network infrastructure to solutions to new needs while enhancing efficiency, scalability, and security.
