Description:
The Network Installation Engineer is responsible for assisting with the onsite installation of network services at sites across the world. The role reports to the Deployment Lead.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
- CCNA certified.
- SC clearance and willing to go through the DV clearance process.
- Experience of transitioning large and complex IT projects in UK public sector.
- Experience of installing network equipment in datacentres as well as smaller server rooms.
- Experience of fault finding and troubleshooting network hardware devices.
- Excellent understanding of different network media types and connectors.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to read and understand complex network diagrams.
- Must be able to work with multiple suppliers and provide them with guidance as required.
- Must had knowledge of SD-WAN technologies.
- Must be prepared to travel overseas occasionally.
- Must have a valid passport with no travel restrictions.
Location: London - Hybrid
Responsibilities:
- Review and validate as-is site technical configuration/information.
- Rack and stack the network equipment at site, running network cables between devices and patch panels as per the site design.
- Re-cable the aspects of the network rack to achieve an optimal and tidy rack installation.
- Tidy the installation area and dispose of installation-generated rubbish appropriately.
- Troubleshoot installation issues where required.
- Assist site with User Acceptance Testing where required.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of the Programme plan as directed by the Deployment Lead.
- Participate in cross functional workshops as required.
- Review site designs.
- Provide network technical advice to the wider Programme and supplier teams.
- Liaise with site contacts to provide them with on-going information about their upcoming transition.
- Work closely and collaboratively with the wider Programme team.
