We are looking for a dedicated Senior Engineer to support the growth of our equipment portfolio at our new greenfield orthopedics plant in Cork, Ireland. This role offers the unique opportunity to lead engineering deliverables related to capacity planning, procurement, and equipment deployment, helping us achieve our strategic goals in the DePuy Synthes Orthopaedic franchise.
This role may require up to 25 % of domestic & international travel.
What you will be doing:
In this role, you will:
- Deliver technical support to allow development and seamless transfer of robust qualified orthopedic implant manufacturing processes to Network Edge project sites.
- Work with equipment providers to remove technical complexity and ensure flexible assets are available to support all required manufacturing processes.
- Support the development of a lean validation system and lead engineering studies to support.
- Ensure that all project activities are conducted in line with procedures and controls outlined in the QMS and that the quality and performance of the product conforms to specified standards and in compliance with the recognized Regulatory Standards for relevant markets.
- Collaborate with functional stakeholders to ensure that technical, validation and regulatory strategies are implemented in an efficient and compliant manner and at an appropriate risk level.
- Communicate with internal and external partners to coordinate and execute project plans.
- Provides technical leadership and supports execution of EHS&S policies and procedures.
- Support technical collaboration across functions to remove unnecessary variability and ensure knowledge transfer of best-in-class process across the full network.
- Lead effective and timely communication processes and stakeholder management processes within the project scope and ensures project and program activities are consistently documented.
QUALIFICATIONS
We would love to hear from you if you have the following essential requirements:
Education: A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
- Experienced knowledge of medical device manufacturing and validation
- “Minimum two years (preferred 5 years) of relevant professional work experience in medtech or similar regulated industry.”
- Clear understanding of variations in CNC and inspection machines and the relevant tooling.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills & demonstrated ability to operate as part of a team.
- Track record of innovation and adaptability in project execution, with strong problem-solving skills.
- Proven competence to evaluate, communicate and act upon significant risks, demonstrating leadership of the high standards of quality and compliance.
- Strong influencing skills - Excellent interpersonal skills (written and oral).
- Decision Making – Required to make decisions on technical and management issues.
