Description:

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, systems analysis or a related study, equivalent experience, CCNP, CCIE or other network qualifications
  • 7-8 years’ experience of supporting network environments
  • Expert knowledge in at least two of the following
  • Load balancers
  • Firewalls

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE:

The role of the Network Solutions Architect is to architect global scalable networks, consolidating the network infrastructure across Sysco Europe and ensuring it is compatible with our US network.
You will also provide an end-to-end view of the Sysco Technical landscape, interpreting functional and non-functional requirements, data flows, and enterprise architectural guidelines to create business specific solutions that are maintainable, supportable, fit for purpose, cost effective and future proof.
The role will also support the international businesses in delivery of key initiatives, projects, and programs, which drive alignment to Sysco’s technical landscape.
The role will assist the international businesses in understanding the technical landscape and architecture, defining technical and non-functional requirements, and providing guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
The role sits at the heart of the international technology team with particular focus on the international technology solutions, roadmap, and alignment to the Sysco technical standards.
As part of the role, international travel will be required for short periods.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Remain aligned to the International and Global strategy. Provide direction and clarification to the international technology teams on the Sysco technology standards and Sysco technologies
  • Understand the business requirements and work with key stakeholders to ensure critical design decisions are taken promptly and in line with the agreed scope, deliverables, and alignment to Sysco technical standards
  • Provide support to, and challenge, key stakeholders ensuring design decisions balance the business and technical needs and constraints
  • Understand the business technical landscape and how they impact, or are impacted by, the agreed technical solutions.
  • Facilitate agreement between key stakeholders and business functions to optimise the technical design where compromise is required for the wider outcome.
  • Provide a leadership role through the project lifecycle supporting both business and technology teams to ensure risks, issues, dependencies, and escalations are dealt with in a timely manner.
  • Ensure a level of quality and control for design artifacts
  • Assist in the creation of project budgets, alignment of resources, budget allocation
  • Support the identification and sequencing of technical project dependencies
