Description:
POSITION SUMMARY
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Division of Neuro-immunology is seeking a full-time, tenure track research faculty to join our expanding Division. The position will be at the associate professor rank. This role will increase UNC’s Global Neurology footprint. This academic appointment requires participating in global research activities, providing clinical services, and teaching residents, fellows, and medical students the principles of neuro-immunology and neuro-infectious disease.
The primary responsibility will be: Perform neuroimmunology and/or neuroinfectious disease research in a global health context.
Dedicated teaching at all levels is required, including medical students, residents, and fellows through lectures, seminars, conferences, and grand rounds. Participation in clinical research and extramural scholarly activities in the form of publications and service to professional organizations is expected.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Candidate should possess an M.D. or equivalent degree and have completed both a Neurology residency and a neuro-immunology, or equivalent fellowship.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES, AND EXPERIENCE
Demonstrated research publications and funding.
