STFC Particle Physics Department is involved in the largest current and future neutrino experiments: the T2K and HyperK experiments in Japan and the DUNE experiment in the USA. Creating a neutrino beam requires a complex set of particle accelerators, targets and magnets, all of which must be precisely calibrated and understood. Your task is to simulate the “magnetic horn”. You will write and run simulations using standard particle physics frameworks and finite element analysis to understand the behaviour of the “magnetic horn”, a key focusing device for the neutrino beam.
