Role & work environment
We’re looking for a dynamic and experienced PMO Lead to drive the success of the New Banking Platform Program (NBP). The NBP is at the heart of ING’s vision to become the bank of the future, modernizing our core banking platform and thus ensuring enhanced reliability, efficiency and superior customer and employee experiences. As PMO lead you will be responsible for orchestrating the delivery of NBP, overseeing and orchestrating the release of NBP funds towards the different workstreams, supporting communications towards Belgium and Group leadership, maintaining a consolidated view of the key risks and proactively managing the consolidated portfolio of interconnected workstreams, safeguarding the budget, coordinating cross-functional dependencies, and maintaining project management standards. You will report directly to the Head of Transformation Office & NBP and work closely with the delivery leads of the workstreams.
Key Responsibilities
As PMO Lead you will:
- Act as an excellence leader in governing the NBP program to meet defined objectives and maximizes success:
- Facilitating regular meetings and decision forums for alignment and issue resolution.
- Craft & execute a communication plan to engage senior stakeholders (e.g., Executive committees, MTs, BoD) and report on progress, risks decisions, dependencies.
- Document and enforce all governance activities to uphold transparency and accountability.
- Support NBP team onboarding and offboarding, including access to systems, tools, and equipment.
- Serve as financial steward, progress tracker and risk assessor of the program:
- Oversee budget allocations and financial tracking for efficiency and compliance.
- Directing the timely release of funds in line with project milestones.
- Coordinate the program risk assessments and support streams on defining mitigation strategies.
- Establish a value capture system to report financial impacts and benefits.
- Act as the performance overseer and issue resolution leader:
- Manage escalation protocol to address unresolved issues efficiently.
- Resolve complex project issues, providing expert advice, and deploying specialized teams as needed.
- Coordinate with the procurement office to manage vendor relations in line with NBP standards.

Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience leading PMOs or large-scale transformation programs, ideally within the financial services industry.
- Deep understanding of portfolio management, project governance, and budget management.
- Strong track record of coordinating complex interdependencies across multiple workstreams.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire at all levels of the organization.
- Knowledge of banking systems and services is a strong advantage.
