Description:
The New Builds Business Analyst is responsible for closely monitoring the financial performance of the New Builds department, including budget definition, oversight, and managing owner-supplied materials. Additionally, this role leads ad-hoc business analyses for both front- and back-of-house projects related to the development of new ships. Collaborating with internal departments and external consultants, the Business Analyst ensures financial performance, operational efficiency, and cost reduction, all while working towards enhancing the guest experience. By managing the budget and financial performance, the Business Analyst aligns project specifications with profitability and operational goals, ensuring financial feasibility for guest experience innovation.
As a key member of the team, this role works cross-functionally with the finance, procurement, F&B, technical\/operational, and guest experience innovation teams.
The Business Analyst ensures financial and strategic alignment across all new ship projects, optimizes owner supply relations, and delivers data-driven insights that enhance the department’s overall efficiency and profitability. The Analyst also plays a critical role in contributing data insights to monitor KPIs, contributing to the alignment of financial performance objectives with the broader strategic goals of New Builds development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- 4+ years of relevant experience in budget management, financial analysis, procurement, or contract management, preferably within the cruise, hospitality, or construction industry.
- Strong financial acumen with experience in managing budgets, financial forecasting, and reporting. Working towards aligning financial and strategic goals.
- Proven ability to manage contracts, oversee vendor relationships, and coordinate third-party suppliers.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with finance, procurement, operational, and technical teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to provide data-driven insights and recommendations.
- Proficient in financial software, budgeting tools, and key computer applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to ensure leadership is informed of updates, project status, and deadlines through clear communication and regular status reports.
- Proactive and collaborative attitude, with strong interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to perform additional duties as assigned by management to support the overall success of the New Builds department.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in Italian or French is preferred.
- Oversee the definition, tracking, and monitoring of the New Builds hotel and guest operations budget, ensuring alignment with financial goals and preventing cost overruns. Provide regular updates on budget performance to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
- Conduct financial forecasting for New Builds projects, ensuring expenditures are kept in line with approved budgets. Analyse financial data and provide insights to improve profitability, cost control, and resource allocation.
- Manage the budget and coordination of owner-supplied materials, ensuring timely delivery, cost efficiency, and alignment with project specifications. Track and report related costs to enhance budget forecasting accuracy.
- Collaborate with finance, procurement, F&B, technical\/operational departments, and guest experience teams to ensure financial and strategic alignment across all New Builds projects.
- Lead and execute ad-hoc business analyses to evaluate the financial impact of decisions related to New Builds projects, with a focus on increasing profitability, reducing costs, and improving operational efficiency.
- Identify potential financial risks, including budget overruns, supply chain disruptions, or delays in owner-supplied materials. Coordinate with all departments involved to address these risks and prevent project timeline disruptions.
- Track and report on key financial and operational performance indicators (KPIs) for New Builds projects. Ensure data-driven insights are used to optimize project outcomes and support decision-making.VISA REQUIREMENTS (if any)
