JOB OPPORTUNITY: NEW BUSINESS RECORDS SPECIALIST AT SOUTHERN FARM BUREAU LIFE INSURANCE

As a New Business Records Specialist, you’ll be an essential part of our New Business team, contributing to the success of our organization.
Location: Jackson, MS
Role and Responsibilities: The New Business Records Specialist expedites the receipt of medical records, including initiating requests, obtaining processing fees, sending follow-up letters, performing necessary file maintenance, etc.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Communicate by telephone and letter with physicians’ offices, hospitals and copy services to verify patient information, obtain information about the doctor, and request medical records.
  • Process payments for medical records by phone and online.
  • Add and update physicians data base and work order system by file maintenance.
  • Obtain and complete special releases required from facilities
  • Communicate with agent and underwriters for status of medical records requests and obtaining correct information needed to process medical records.
  • Process incoming mail and referrals in Caseflow related to Medical Record

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Associate’s degree or 3 years of experience in a customer service-related environment
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, required
  • Excellent typing skills (40+wpm) with a 10% or below error ratio
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe PDF files and Tiff files
  • Multi-tasking skills required
  • Ability to function effectively in the workplace as exhibited through one’s integrity, courage to act and communication skills
  • Ability to work with others effectively as exhibited through one’s respect for people and commitment to teamwork
