ABOUT US:

Are you someone who enjoys detailed problem solving, interrogating data and rigorously assessing system performance? We are looking for someone who is currently studying at university and is interested in undergoing a placement year in industry. You will design and conduct tests on fuel avionics and new fuels test benches and support our flight test analysis activities.
The Fuel Avionics and New Fuels Test teams support the development and certification test activities performed for the fuel systems in all the Airbus programs and R&T activities focused on hydrogen and SAF topics.
The test scope of the avionics function is verification of system computers and main electronic equipment integration on avionic test benches. In addition to this, new emerging technologies such as zero carbon aviation are increasingly becoming part of the working portfolio and the new fuels test function will be aiding in the learnings required to bring these emerging technologies to future aircraft.
We are a product-focused community with a history of delivering innovation to our company. As a team we conduct development testing of new aircraft systems through agile test methods, help to resolve in-service problems and provide design feedback for future aircraft.

REQUIREMENTS:

Our placements are open to Undergraduates only . Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement. Please inform your graduation date on your application.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Studying towards a degree in Engineering, Science, or equivalent;
  • Excited by technical challenges and solving problems with interest in aerospace and zero emission technologies;
  • Project management knowledge or interest;
  • Skills in programming and programming languages, data analysis, presenting and report writing;
  • Committed to delivering on time;
  • Good interpersonal skills and capable of working as a team and autonomously;
  • Negotiation level of English both written and spoken;
  • Nice to have awareness of aircraft systems;
  • Knowledge of statistics, data science, experimental design and project management would be beneficial.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Eligibility to gain UK SC Security Clearance OR You will be subject to a BPSS check (including a criminal record check).

EXPERIENCE LEVEL:

Every day will present a new challenge, you will test and improve your skills on a variety of activities within Lab Testing and Data Analytics, such as:

  • Agreement on Lab Test Requirements, definition and validation of test benches;
  • System level testing of new fuel and landing gear functionality;
  • In-service investigation by reproducing events on avionics benches.;
  • Preparing Lab Test Results Analysis

Responsibilities:

As an intern with us, you will contribute to the delivery of Fuel Capability Development Team’s mission:

  • Support certification through integrated rig and flight testing and analysis;
  • Establish and improve the maturity of aircraft systems through the collaboration with other engineering teams;
  • React to and help resolve in-service system issues;
  • Aim for product safety beyond certification requirements;
  • Implement synergies and alignment between rig and flight test.

Every day will present a new challenge, you will test and improve your skills on a variety of activities within Lab Testing and Data Analytics, such as:

  • System level testing of new fuel and landing gear functionality;
