ABOUT YOU:

You will be an integral member of the retail team at Hasland furniture store. You will be responsible for ensuring the shop is safe, clean and well presented, making sure our customers have a great experience.

Skills and experience required:

  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to adapt to different customer challenges
  • Ability to multi task and manage conflicting priorities and targets.
  • Experience within visual merchandising

Responsibilities:

Hours: 15 hours per week, usually worked 2 days’ over 7, to include weekends and bank holidays.
Our retail outlets provide 29% of much-needed income to the hospice. This is vital to be able to provide care to the people of North Derbyshire. The hospice has seventeen retail shops, one furniture warehouse, one donation centre, two clearance shops and two coffee shops. We also have an online eBay/Amazon platform and an online furniture store. It’s a big operation!
We are looking for a New Goods Sales Assistant to join our Hasland retail team.
This job role is hard work, enormous fun, hugely satisfying and very fascinating. This is a job that doesn’t have that Monday morning feeling, and you will go home feeling happy that you did a great job for an amazing charity! The main responsibilities include:

  • To implement any promotion in the shop as directed.
  • To support the training, development and motivation of a team of staff and volunteers.
  • Maintain high standards of shop display and cleanliness.
  • Encourage public donations and manage daily stock tasks (sorting, pricing, rotating)
  • Implement shop promotions as instructed.
  • Supervise volunteers, including recruitment, training, and support.
  • Handle cash, complete administrative paperwork, and ensure financial procedures are followed.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and report any issues, including suspected theft.
