WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • 5+ years in business development, business strategy and operations, partnerships in a startup, high-growth tech company, or management consulting environment
  • Comfort being at the intersection of product and go-to-market strategy, operations, business development, and technology
  • Ability to autonomously design, create, and deliver results and presentations for senior and executive leadership with minimal supervision
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with external and cross functional partners
  • Strong command of the following technologies: Google Suite (Sheets, Gmail, Slides, Process visualization tools, Project Management technologies (e.g., Asana), Slack, Zoom

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Manager of New Ventures and Partnerships reports to the Head of New Ventures in the Business Development organization. This individual contributes to the New Ventures team in two key ways. First, they will independently manage a new vertical strategy. They will lead a team of cross-functional partners to ensure that the joint goals and objectives of the company and its partners are met and exceeded. Second, they will support the Head of New Ventures to drive major strategic partnerships forward, from strategy to execution.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • For your select vertical, independently ‘GM’ the strategy and execution of new vertical partnerships, including developing OKRs and KPIs to measure our success in the work you lead
  • Develop and execute data-informed product and GTM strategies in your vertical.
  • Lead a cross-functional ‘pod’ to develop, test, and refine pilot programs to prove your vertical strategies and inform the future of your vertical.
  • Partner with partners and Thumbtack product and engineering teams to inform near and long-term product roadmap to widen the aperture of addressable verticals
  • For major strategic partnerships, support the Head of New Ventures and Partnerships in driving partnerships forward, from strategy to execution
  • Travel to internal company meetings, partners, and conferences required throughout the year; approximately 10 - 20% of your working time.
