Description:

Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital is actively seeking applicants for a Night Attendant Position.
The Night Attendant monitors alarms, initiates overhead pages, participates in response to codes and emergency alarms, allows patients and caregivers and emergency responders entrance to the hospital, completes security checks and periodic tours of the hospital.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • OSSD - Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
  • Diploma in Police Foundations or Protection, Security and Investigation or equivalent deemed acceptable to the Hospital is preferred
  • Licensed as a Security Guard in the Province of Ontario
  • Basic Life Support (BLS Certification)
  • Previous healthcare security experience is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and customer service experience
  • Able to work independently
  • Excellent standards of ethical conduct, demonstrating honesty and integrity
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent decision-making, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent work ethic and positive attitudes that demonstrated AH values
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with other team members

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise entrances of the hospital building.
  • Ensure the hospital building is secure and locked.
  • Provide direction to emergency patients if needed for remote registration.
  • Offer direction and guidance if needed to patients or caregivers/visitors, thus offering customer service.
  • Monitors building automation system. Call in maintenance when required and document.
  • Answer the designated night attendant phone.
  • Support Code White response by using de-escalation methods under direction of the Registered Nurse.
  • Support Emergency Code Response as appropriate under the Emergency Management Plan.
  • Escorts hospital team members to and from the parking lot to support safety if requested.
  • Other duties as assigned
