Description:

Acts as Duty Manager during the night. Is responsible for the property and guests’ calm and security.
Ensures daily closings and prepares accounting reports and statistics.
Prepares the daily report and coordinates the daily movements with the other departments.
Controls in-house guest rates and makes any necessary changes.
Actively participates in the optimization of the sales of his department and the hotel.
Has a perfect knowledge of the different types of rooms and rates available. Knows perfectly our offers.
Provides a courteous and friendly service (to external and internal guests), while ensuring its effectiveness.

Makes enquiries about the events occurring within the hotel and outside of the hotel (fairs, congresses, seminars, etc.) and ensures that all employees are well informed.
Monitors quality of the services offered to guests.
Knows how to answer all guest requests and how to customize service according to guests’ culture and nationality.
Is familiar with IHG loyalty program.
Manages guest feedbacks (positive or negative).
Updates repeat guest files to improve customer needs anticipation.
Prepares daily recaps and presents the “daily briefing / handover” for the next team.
Performs the same duties as a receptionist (registering guests, distributing room keys and performing check in / check out).
Is totally familiar with all Front Desk (Reception/Cashiering) back-up procedures in the event that any Front Office equipment malfunctions.
Is thoroughly familiar with all emergency procedures that will ensure the safety of all hotel employees and guests.
Monitors the entries and exits on the hotel’s premises.
Immediately informs his superiors, and possibly the Security Department, of any guest having a suspicious behavior or an attitude that is incompatible with the hotel’s standing, as well as any guest present on the “blacklist”.
Ensures public places’ cleanliness by conducting frequent rounds, notes anomalies in the instructions notebook and undertakes all necessary actions to remedy them with the other departments concerned.
Supervises the Front Office Night staff (administration, payroll, work time, planning).
Leads end of year reviews and check-ins for his team.
Is responsible for his team’s well-being at work.
Ensures compliance of his team with internal regulations in terms of grooming and dress code: state of uniforms, hygiene, presentation, attitude and behavior.
Trains his team in the proper execution of hotel and IHG policies and procedures as mentioned in the standards and insists on this subject in order to maintain performance standards to the maximum.
Builds and maintains effective relationships with other departments.
Conveys the right values and the good behaviors in his service as well as towards his colleagues and his hierarchy.
Documents and informs the Management Team of any incident or problem that occurs during work hours, particularly those he is not able to solve or whose importance justifies it, whether it concerns work-related issues or employee-related problems.
Applies procedures and policies within the hotel and all new procedures according to the management orders and submits new propositions to the Management in order to improve the department efficiency.
Applies the internal procedures in terms of health, hygiene and safety (IHG Way of Clean).
Applies and enforces environmental good practices in his department, particularly as part of the Green Globe certification (waste sorting, black & white printing, paperless meeting, etc.).
May be required to work in our two hotels of Geneva, InterContinental Genève & Crowne Plaza Geneva and may exceptionally perform other duties at the request of his hierarchy.
