Description:

JOB SUMMARY

The Night Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the operations of the warehouse during night shifts. This position is responsible for ensuring that all activities are conducted efficiently and safely, while also managing staff and resources to meet operational goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in warehouse management, with an emphasis on continuous improvement and effective transportation management systems.

EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within a warehouse environment is essential.
  • Familiarity with forklift operation is highly desirable.
  • Experience with transportation management systems and warehouse management systems is beneficial.
  • Strong understanding of shipping and receiving processes, as well as profit loss management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
    This role requires a proactive individual who can work independently while also leading a team towards achieving operational excellence during the night shift.
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: £32,760.00 per year

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of warehouse staff during night shifts to ensure smooth operations.
  • Oversee shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all transactions.
  • Utilise warehouse management systems to track inventory levels and manage stock movements effectively.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Manage profit and loss statements related to night operations, identifying areas for cost reduction and increased profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies throughout the warehouse.
  • Train new employees on warehouse procedures, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to optimise transportation processes.
