Description:
Responsibilities:
- Operational/Technical/Professional Results
- At Cluster level, provision of an outstanding business security intelligence network and the maintenance of internal and external relationships vital to support the process.
- Consultation with senior business leaders of Nordics Cluster regarding their security concerns and requirements for the protection of company personnel, families, and visitors.
- Continuously review, implement, and maintain effective security policy, procedures, and standard methodologies to ensure safety and protection of personnel, assets, information, and business operational activities throughout the Nordics.
- Jointly facilitate Nordics Business Risk and Security Committee and supply towards contingency planning, alongside the Audit and Legal teams.
- Develop close working relationship with Compliance and Audit on risk mitigation plans, fraud investigations and key control issues.
- Ensure that risks and threat assessments are in place and are constantly reviewed and used in conjunction with the Risk Management process and briefings to Nordics (and Factory) Management on prevailing ‘in-country’, security issues and developing trends.
- Ensure full implementation and reviews of the BCM, SRM and other global programmes.
- Compile and submit for the Nordics cluster, all security corporate and Audit related documents to the WE Head of Security for timely reporting to the RACC Committee and plc Audit Committee.
- Conduct security investigations, reviews, and audits in relation to any aspect of business integrated security.
- Design and co-ordinate appropriate specialist security training for security and other staff.
- Review the status of security within the Nordics, using auditable processes and tools such as ‘SRM’ on a regular basis.
- Ensure that travel security procedures and documentation are aligned and updated across the end-markets.
- Leadership Results
- Establish and develop plans to enhance security awareness and training within the Nordics Cluster.
- Create a business integrated culture in the security team and lead them as a key supporting function contributing to the business following BAT’s guiding principles.
- Assist and ensure that expert assistance is provided to Cluster Top Team where there is no permanent Security presence.
- Management Results
- Supervise the security environment in the Cluster taking proactive measures to minimize security risks to the business, commensurate with the dynamic security environment.
- Provide assessment, planning and execution of contingency plans for management of crisis within the responsibility of security and beyond where possible, for continuity of business.
- Leverage understanding and support of collaborators to assist in better-informed decisions in addressing security concerns and issues effectively.
- Ensure transparency, effectiveness and efficiency of the security budget and other security related costs within the scope.
- Relationship Results
- Develop alliance with other functions for alignment and integration at all levels to enable business excellence.
- Build an effective internal network and proactively provide security and other possible support to all functions and end-market management teams, to achieve their business objectives and the integration of security services within the business.
- Maintain effective liaison with relevant external partners at End Markets level especially Law Enforcement Agencies, Intelligence and Security organizations and other government agencies to acquire practical and material assistance to the business, identifying key collaborators within the Cluster.
- Maintain close liaison with other security professionals from embassies, Security organisations (OSAC, ASIS, etc.) and international companies.
- Support and maintain close contact with the other end-markets and DRBU Security to exchange and share security information, issues, measures, and best practices.

- Continually seek opportunities for technological and process innovation to increase efficiency in security systems, processes, and measures, delivering value to the DRBU.
Identify and exploit security trends and developments to capitalise security in a cost-effective way.
What are we looking for?
- At least four (4) years of Senior Management experience. In depth, extensive knowledge of security management, combined with progressive responsible and proven experience in police, military service, or corporate security in the private sector.
- Security team leadership experience. Strong leadership, management, and delegation skills
- Professional qualification on security; ideally an international professional certification (CPP or CSMP) or degree level (BSc) in “Security Studies” or formal qualification in the management of security operations
- A high level of communications skills with ability to explain and defend difficult issues with respect to key decisions and concepts.
- Ability to maintain high level of integrity and confidentiality.
- Excellent planning, coordination, and reporting skills, with the ability to organise substantial workload comprising diverse tasks and responsibilities.
- Solid organisational skills: flexibility and ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced collaborative environment.
- Professional knowledge in IT tools:, Word, excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to identify and address key security issues to support strategic business needs quickly and competently.
- Competent knowledge of budget management and business controls.
- Good interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment to lead and harness the performance of direct reports (Security guards and junior profiles).
- Display sound, mature judgement, and decision-making ability. Ability to make swift, balanced decisions in emergencies or when rapid response is required.
- Proven leadership skills in the management of security operations.
- Capable of cultivating and mobilising resources to obtain and collate information on risks and threats to company interests.
- High level command of English language, both spoken and writing skills (preferably Proficient / C1 or C2 level)
Desirable
- Business Continuity Certified (CBCI, CBCP or similar)
- Experience in Crisis Management – Support and training Leadership Teams
