Description:

REFY are seeking a New Product Development (NPD) Manager to join our team. Reporting into the Head of NPD, this role will lead the core NPD team, managing three direct reports to drive REFY’s product innovation.
The NPD manager will ensure seamless communication and collaboration across departments and with external partners, overseeing all core concept and product development, ensuring innovation goals, deadlines and timelines are hit.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience in developing concepts, formulations and components for makeup and/or skin care.
  • Demonstrated success in managing and mentoring a team Product Developers (minimum one direct report).
  • In-depth knowledge of makeup and skin care market.
  • Skilled in problem solving, communication and organisation.
  • A highly detail-oriented, creative thinker who brings innovation and precision to the role.

Responsibilities:

  • Being the project owner and developer for all A+ NPD (formula and componentry).
  • Delivering clear briefs from the Head of NPD to the team and following up on all actions ahead of project review or sign off, ensuring timelines are followed and 100% met.
  • Scheduling gate reviews and planning agendas.
  • Collaborating with Head of NPD and Product Marketing Manager to deliver world class concepts, innovation and development to achieve a minimum of 3 patentable products per year.
  • Testing product and overseeing testing plans to ensure product is inclusive and resonates with our community.
  • Presenting topline status updates, ideation and feedback to Management, Head of NPD, Product Director, Marketing Manager and Co-founders.
  • Allocating target costs, reviewing supplier quotes and negotiating costs to hit target margins.
  • Identifying risks within the product and the business to ensure high quality standards are maintained or exceeded.
  • Attending global trade fairs, factories and upholding strong supplier relationships.
  • Delivering departmental goals, in line with business goals.
  • Constantly reviewing processes and adapting ways of working as we grow.
