We are currently recruiting for an experienced NPD Quality Engineer for our Antrim site.
The NPD Quality Engineer is responsible for making sure all products meet company and industry quality standards. Responsibilities also include designing and implementing tests, debugging and defining corrective actions.

General Responsibilities

  • Designs, implements and maintains quality assurance protocols and methods for processing materials into partially finished or finished products
  • Conducts the planning, implementing and managing compliance of manufacturing and production processes with internal and external safety, quality and regulatory standards requirements for worldwide distribution
  • Handles design methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of production processes, production equipment and finished products
  • Conducts analysis of reports and production data to identify trends and recommend updates or changes to quality standards and procedures when necessary
  • Develops methods for testing, sampling and training
  • May act as internal consultant by providing technical guidance on most complex projects
  • Works with quality inspection supervisors to train and oversee inspectors in their use of control forms, procedures, and correcting quality problems

Experience / Qualifications

  • A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
  • Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
  • Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
  • Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
  • Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers

Specific Responsibilities

  • Hold team accountable to comply with Sensata New Product Development / Agile processes
  • Capture, document, apply Lessons Learned from NPD launches (Good and /or Poor experiences). Use them to build a stronger NPD system and proactive approach for future launches
  • Perform Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities in quick paced environment, with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Direct interaction with our customers and internal support teams.
  • Establish process controls documentation (Process Flow, FMEA, Control Plans).
  • To establish Safe Launch plans to ensure highest quality levels are achieve and maintained.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective action Reponses (8D)
  • Capability to drive positive change in our processes and products
  • Ability to travel to individual Sensata, customer or sub supplier sites

Specific Experience

  • Commercial experience as a Quality Engineer, with minimum of 5 years’ job experience
  • New Product Launch experience, preferred in electronic components, and 1 + yrs job experience
  • Hands on working experience with AIAG Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, FMEA)
  • VDA & IATF Quality Management Systems knowledge and or internal auditor experience
  • Program management skills (ability to manage time and resources to accomplish tasks)
  • Ability to work independently and within our teams
  • Robust communication skills (written & verbal) in English and EU languages
  • MS Office, Oracle / Agile, Customer Web Portal capabilities
