Description:
NPD TECHNOLOGIST
Excellent opportunity for an NPD Technologist to join a leading FMCG based in Wexford. You will be an integral part of the team and contribute to the enhancement of the company’s product portfolio and market presence.
Job type: Permanent: initial 12-month maternity cover for NPD Co-ordinator with the opportunity to transfer to permanent NPD technologist
Salary: Negotiable
Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead and support line trials, pre-production trials and first production runs.
First point of contact for retailers NPD queries
Host Customer visits ensuring a high standard of presentation - internal & external.
Attending business events as required - awards ceremonies, business development opportunities.
Retailer market reviews - key times of the year & as requested by retailers.
Developing products that are new, innovate and align with company goals and customer needs
Preparing initial costing for commercials
Conduct new product tastings - internal and then to customers
Awards - manage & organise of award entries & sample submissions
Stay up to date on industry regulations & standards
Manage relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of new - ingredient, packaging & labels
Liaise with marketing/account manager, operations, maintenance to deliver project to timescale/cost/quality
Completion & upkeep of all retailers online technical specifications
Completion & upkeep of customer raw material specifications, technical handover documents, new line forms
Provide technical information to production/account managers in relation to packaging and ingredients as per industry regulations & standards
Sign off on all artworks, ensuring accuracy and compliance with brand guidelines and legal requirements.
Nutritional’s - completing internal calculations, co-ordinating samples for new/existing lab testing and ensuring all data is per EU & customer requirements.
Creation of all value-added ingredient quid breakdowns as per EU legislation
Completion of all cooking validations for retail products
Collaborate with account managers for retailer cooked & raw photography samples - Including final approval & sign off on images.
Collaborate with IT to create/ mock-up all own brand labels
Maintain NPD procedures manual
The successful candidate will ideally have some experience in a similar role in the meat and / or broader food sector with a proven track record of delivery of NPD projects as well as and meet the following specific criteria.
- B.Sc. Food Technology/Food Science/Nutritional Science/Food Innovation/Culinary Arts
- Have a passion and interest in food.
- Direct food/meat processing technology experience would be advantageous.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Creativity in mind, approach and method to find new opportunities.
- Demonstrate an energetic, self-motivated and flexible approach in all matters.
- Proficient in MS Office and other relevant systems
