- Department: Diagnostic Cardiology Anc
- Schedule: PRN; Rotating Shifts - cover weekends and call
- Hospital: Ascension St. Vincent’s Riverside Hospital
- Location: Jacksonville, FL
REQUIREMENTS
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Radiologic Technologist credentialed from the Florida Department of Health obtained prior to hiredate or job transfer date required. Florida license requirements not applicable to associates working in Georgia.
- One or more of the following required:
- Nuclear Medical Tech credentialed from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
- Radiologic Technologist specializing in Nuclear Medicine credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Education:
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate’sdegree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
Responsibilities:
Perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures providing quality images to radiologists and physicians for interpretation.
- Maintain and operate cameras that detect and map radioactive drugs in a patient’s body to create diagnostic images.
- Position patients and select anatomic and technical factors accurately.
- Order, prepare, administer, and dispose of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols.
- Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
- Ensure prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).
- Ensure equipment is properly functioning.
- Report potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel.
- Lock/tag out equipment if appropriate.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, and orderly department.
