WE ARE SEEKING A DEDICATED AND SKILLED NURSE CONSULTANT TO JOIN OUR BREAST/ENDOCRINE SURGICAL TEAM!

The Breast and Endocrine Surgical Unit is responsible for providing sensitive care to members of our community.
The Breast and Endocrine Surgical Unit is a multidisciplinary unit combining the Flinders Medical Centre breast cancer surgeons, radiologists, pathologists and cytologists, and the Flinders Medical Centre breast care nurses, in the same clinic, into a comprehensive breast diagnostic and management service.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Head of Breast Endocrine Unit, this role coordinates the treatment journey for the Breast/Endocrine Surgery cohort of patients ensuring patients are diagnosed, discussed and treatment is implemented without delay and within designated care pathways.

Duties for the role will include:

  • Conduct, report and integrate results of investigations into therapeutic management,
  • Implement and co-ordinate within span of control, processes for quality improvement and continuity within corporate risk management and nursing professional practice frameworks,
  • Apply and share expert clinical knowledge to improve patient care outcomes,
  • Establishing, implementing and evaluating systems, which ensure best practice/evidence and patient outcomes,
  • Contribute to the redesign of care and treatment practices,
  • Demonstrating appropriate behaviours which reflect a commitment to the Department of Health values and strategic directions.
