Description:

WAIROA HOSPITAL & HEALTH CENTRE – NURSE MANAGER

Nau mai haere mai, ki te Wairoa - a place where you can truly connect in a meaningful way. With people, with the land and nature, and with the purpose of why you do what you do – why you chose a career in nursing.
We are seeking to appoint a full-time permanent Nurse Manager for our small rural hospital in Hawkes Bay – Te Matau a Māui. This position holds responsibility for Wairoa Hospital & Health Centre and the multiple services they provide. Including the management of Nursing, Health Care Associates, Midwives, & Allied health staff.
In this position you will work in partnership with the Hospital and Health Centre Manager and Clinical Medical Lead to manage the Hospital and Health Care centre. You will be supported from the Rural and Localities Manager and the Director of Nursing.
We are a largely Māori community, your understanding of the healthcare and cultural needs of Māori, and the need to put this at the centre of all you do is vital to this role. We provide a 24/7 emergency service, a nine-bed acute ward, outpatient department, maternity and community teams. And we work closely with other providers, including a large General Practice which is with the same facility.
In Wairoa you will enjoy nursing in its purest form – providing care for our small, tight-knit community in a compassionate, culturally in-tune way. We are proud of our team’s diversity. We know the strength of a diverse and inclusive workforce helps us achieve the best outcomes for our Wairoa patients and their whānau.
