REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master’s degree in nursing required.
  • Valid Professional License/Certification for the state in which duties are performed.
  • Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) preferred.
  • Data Waiver (must be completed before date of hire).
  • 2+ years of experience in substance use disorder or behavioral health preferred.
  • Eligible for DEA license.
  • Knowledge of psychotropic medication administration and practice.
  • Competency in behavioral health and addiction treatment.
  • Must have or be able to obtain current First Aid and CPR certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of clients.
  • Prescribe and administer medications in collaboration with the supervising physician.
  • Supervise nursing staff on dispensing operations as needed.
  • Complete medical records and reports and provide necessary referrals to medical services and primary care providers.
  • Coordinate patient care with the Primary Care Physician (PCP) or other physicians prescribing opiates or psychoactive medication.
  • Participate in case planning and consultation with lead counselors, facility/executive directors, project directors, and medical directors as needed.
  • Educate clients on treatment options and provide strength-based, empathetic care.
  • Respond to emergency situations with appropriate evaluation and management (e.g., cardiac arrest, respiratory distress).
  • Additional duties may include participating in clinical/medical committees, providing education, and conducting quality reviews.
