Cleveland Clinic Martin Health has an exciting opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner to join our cardiothoracic surgery team of 3 surgeons and 3 PAs. Experience with cardiac and thoracic surgery required.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Related clinical experience preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Typical physical demands include the ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
- Manual and finger dexterity and eye/hand coordination to perform physical examinations.
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to a normal range.
- Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- May require exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
Responsibilities:
- Comprehensive evaluation, treatment, and documentation for cardiothoracic surgery patients in the preoperative and postoperative periods, as well as follow up after discharge to ensure there is continuity of care for patient management.
- Ambulatory clinic for pre-op and post-op cardiac and thoracic surgical patients, in collaboration with surgeon.
- Inpatient consults and hospital rounds, in collaboration with surgeon.
- Facilitate communication w referring providers.
- Must display professionalism and ability to function in stressful settings, maintaining a respectful attitude and teamwork mentality.
- Continuously seek opportunities for clinical and professional advancement in the field by gaining new skills and maintaining pertinent certifications.
