Description:

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Nurse Practitioner to join the multi-disciplinary team of staff providing sexual health care to patients across the Health Board, in both hospital and community services, caring for men, women and young people with varying sexual health needs.
The modernisation and integration of Sexual Health Services requires a wide range of skills and the willingness to work with a diverse group of service providers. Services provided will include STI screening and treatment, contraceptive provision and care of women in the Pregnancy Advisory Service.
The post holder should be dynamic and visionary and will be required to work closely with a range of professionals, services and other available resources to promote excellent patient care and good patient experience.
The post holder is expected to have knowledge and experience of all aspects of Integrated Sexual Health practice. The role will involve providing STI screening and treatment, contraceptive advice and provision, Pregnancy Advisory services, care of people living with HIV and gender services.
The post holder is designated to take charge regularly of clinical / ward areas.
The post holder will work closely with and actively support the Integrated Sexual Health (ISH) Operational Managers and Lead Nurse to ensure the delivery of high quality nursing care that supports the provision of an effective sexual health service to all patients attending ISH services across Swansea Bay Health Board.
The post holder is required to work in an autonomous role, performing triage/assessments on patients accessing the service and required to make clinical decisions based upon their assessment skills and knowledge. Following training and competency based assessment, the post holder will supply and administer medicines as per Patient Group Directions (PGD’s).
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
The post holder will be expected to travel between clinics between Neath Port Talbot and Swansea.
