We are inviting applications from passionate senior registered nurses with a desire to deliver top quality patient care within our Palliative Care services at Auckland City Hospital.

We recognise that a life-limiting condition has a profound impact on individuals’ and family/whānau members’ health and well-being, and palliative care is an approach that improves the quality of life of patients and their families/ whānau through the prevention and relief of suffering by means of early identification, assessment and treatment of pain and other problems, physical, psychosocial and spiritual.
The Service is looking for a Senior Nurse to join their hospital consult team. Your primary focus is the provision of specialist advice to support adult inpatients with complex needs related to a life limiting illness. As the Nurse Specialist, you will be able to demonstrate expert knowledge, advanced clinical skills, and be an excellent communicator and will work in collaboration with other Nurse Specialists and multidisciplinary team members across the continuum of care. The role encompasses clinical, teaching, leadership and research functions.

Responsibilities:
- Previous experience in either a specialist Palliative Care Service or Oncology is essential
- Interact effectively with a multi-disciplinary team and service members
- Excellent supervisory, communication and problem-solving skills are essential in order to relate to and work with patients, family members and staff and at all levels
- Have NZ Nursing registration with a current Annual Practicing Certificate
- Post graduate qualifications preferable
