About the role
Child Health Services are our community-based service delivery for children 0 - 12 years, providing a continuum of health care and education to children and families across the West Moreton Health Service, including rural areas of Boonah, Gatton, Esk and Laidley.
The Nurse Unit Manager works in partnership with the wider multidisciplinary team to provide paediatric and family centred, quality, safe patient care in a community setting. This role requires direct human resource management and budgetary responsibilities within Women, Children & Family Division of West Moreton Health.

About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrates the ability to apply specialised knowledge of contemporary child health practice and theory throughout paediatric care and to participate directly and indirectly in the delivery of clinical care.
- Demonstrates the ability to build and maintain strong relationships, open communication and a positive environment within a multidisciplinary team, actively contributing to the learning and development of others to a high standard in the Women, Children and Family division.
- Demonstrates expert level of contemporary clinical paediatric and child health knowledge, expertise and skills in paediatric practice and leadership enabling the delivery and supporting high quality care provision.
- Demonstrated management experience and capability with an ability and commitment to practice collaboratively within the community service and the broader multidisciplinary health care team to deliver high quality care.
- Demonstrated advanced and effective communication, relationship development and maintenance and change management skills.
- Demonstrated contemporary child health clinical expertise to the level and duration specified in the Mandatory Qualification section.
- Demonstrated ability to be an effective paediatric health professional with capability for high level engagement across the spectrum of stakeholders including patients and families.
- Demonstrated legislation / policy knowledge and the ability to develop documents supporting the application of same.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS:
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
