About Your New Role
Are you ready to make a significant impact in the healthcare sector? An incredible and rare opportunity has become available for two experienced Nurse Unit Managers to lead a dedicated team in providing exceptional care to our older community within our Geriatric Evaluation and Management / Memory Support Units.
Geriatric Evaluation and Management Unit
The GEM unit delivers a total of 24 inpatient beds to provide suitable accommodation for the care and treatment of older persons including rehabilitation and restorative therapy for eligible older people, and those living with dementia and/or experiencing psychological symptoms of dementia.
The Geriatric Evaluation and Management / Memory Support Unit
The GEM/MSU unit provides GEM Psychogeriatric type care but also includes Memory support beds emphasising rehabilitation and restorative therapy for eligible older people, utilising Sub and Non-Acute Patients (SNAP) code GEM, Psychogeriatric care, rehabilitation and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with peers and others to create a positive practice environment
  • Contribute to the ongoing review of the Model of Care
  • Provide Clinical leadership in managing behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia
  • Provide ethical decision making in the achievement of nursing and service delivery goals
