Description:

D8 is a 28 bedded ward and we care for a variety of patients with spinal injuries. We are a fast paced ward, accepting our patients from ED and our surgical triage unit NASU. D8 at NUH is a regional spinal centre which accepts transfers of people from other hospitals, with complex injuries
You can expect to have a period of supervisory practice and induction, with the opportunity to work alongside our MDT. You will gain knowledge around spinal nursing and the tools required to care for our spinal patients as well as development opportunities

You should have excellent interpersonal & communication skills, a passion for the delivery of high quality, compassionate care, and be able to demonstrate the ability to help change and motivate others. You will have the responsibility of caring for group of patients with complex needs along side the registered nurse for support and advice.
The candidate will be able to work flexibly in diverse clinical environments maintaining clinical experience. They will also have high level self-management skills, including time management, prioritisation and organisational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential to build on the networks required for the role.
