Job Description
The Shift Operations Technician is responsible for specific activities in the safe and environmentally sound operation of the process systems and equipment and assist the Shift Team Leader (STL) in the daily operation of the plant in the field and makes regular plant inspections.

Main responsibilities:

  • Ensure safe and compliant operation of plant through monitoring, inspection, and first-line maintenance.
  • Operate the plant in line with safety, environmental standards, and statutory requirements.
  • Report any safety incidents, anomalies, or defects immediately to ensure process safety.
  • Assist with documentation, operational reports, and projects to enhance plant performance and compliance.
  • Application of safe systems of work, including Putting People to Work, Authorisation to Work, and Company Safety Rules. As appropriate, undertake assigned safety rules duties up to and including High Voltage Authorised Person where deemed competent to do so

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GCSE’s
  • Experience within the Power Industry or similar type of industry experience
  • Familiar with HSE standards, procedures and requirements and control plant operations
  • Experience in operating overhead cranes

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Knowledge of plant operation procedures, methods, and equipment
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and standard safety practices and procedures
  • Language: English
