GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Criminal Investigations Division of the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) is seeking an Administrative Assistant that provides highly complex administrative support for the Child Exploitation Unit. Work involves disseminating information, maintaining filing systems, data entry, and administrative support work. Works under limited supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent
  • Experience: Four years of full-time administrative support, clerical, customer service, general office, or secretarial (or closely related) experience working with law enforcement or criminal justice; may substitute bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience on a year for year basis
  • Knowledge of office practices and administrative procedures
  • Knowledge of the criminal justice system
  • Skill in using Microsoft Office
  • Skill in handling multiple tasks, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines
  • Skill in effective oral and written communication
  • Skill in exercising sound judgment and effective decision making
  • Ability to receive and respond positively to constructive feedback
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others in a professional office environment
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Ability to receive and respond positively to constructive feedback
  • Ability to work in person at assigned OAG work location, perform all assigned tasks at designated OAG work space within OAG work location, and perform in-person work with coworkers (e.g., collaborating, training, mentoring) for the entirety of every work week (unless on approved leave)
  • Ability to arrange for personal transportation for business-related travel
  • Ability to work more than 40 hours as needed and in compliance with the FLSA
  • Ability to lift and relocate 30 lbs. independently
  • Ability to pass an extensive background check
  • Licensure: Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to travel (including overnight travel) up to 5%

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with Criminal Justice or Law Enforcement background
  • Experience: Communicating with investigators and personnel from local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies
  • Knowledge: Salesforce timekeeping, Case Management Systems, LCMS system, Crimestar, OAG policies and procedures, and Salesforce Travel System
  • Ability to work with multiple Criminal Justice Organizations
  • Certifications: Notary Public, TCIC/NCIC certification, CJIS certification
  • Other Language: Ability to proficiently read, write, and speak Spanish
