Description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

This temporary, part-time position (up to 20 hours/week) is scheduled to end on or before 12/31/2024. This position serves as an HR Assistant for the Human Resources Division (HRD) of the Office of the Attorney General, a dynamic state agency with over 4000 employees. The position assists division management and staff with projects. This position may also assist on a variety of other administrative, human resources, and law-related matters. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Completion of at least 30 semester hours at an accredited college or university
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word
  • Superior customer service and listening skills
  • Skill and ability to communicate well with people of all levels
  • Skill and ability to quickly handle multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines
  • Skill and ability to receive and respond positively to constructive feedback
  • Skill and ability to tolerate stress
  • Skill and ability to compose error-free business letters and emails
  • Skill and ability to work cooperatively with others in a professional office environment
  • Skill and ability to be honest, reliable, trustworthy, respectful, and professional at all times

  • Ability to work in person at assigned OAG work location, perform all assigned tasks at designated OAG work space within OAG work location, and perform in-person work with coworkers (e.g., collaborating, training, mentoring) for the entirety of every work week (unless on approved leave)
  • Ability to arrange for personal transportation for business-related travel
  • Ability to work more than 40 hours as needed and in compliance with the FLSA
  • Ability to lift and relocate 30 lbs.
  • Ability to travel (including overnight travel) up to 5%

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Currently pursuing from an accredited college or university a degree in pre-law, human resources, management, records management, business, psychology, political science, history, English, or a related field
  • Interest in pursuing a career in law, human resources, or records management
  • Excellent writing skills with a continued interest in improving such skills
