YOUR OPPORTUNITY

Are you ready to make a real impact? Queensland Rail is seeking an Occupational Health Adviser to join the Employee wellbeing team on an initial 12-month full time contract.
In this role, your expertise will drive high-quality support, coaching, and strategic guidance on health, NHS compliance, and proactive wellness programs. You’ll ensure adherence to legislative requirements, offer crucial support to managers on policy matters, and spearhead strategic initiatives that uphold best practices in Rail Safety Medical Standards and Employee Wellbeing across Queensland Rail
You’ll provide rehabilitation advice to managers, develop tailored return-to-work plans, and oversee the coordination of workplace rehabilitation for employees who experience work-related injuries or illnesses.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Advice and Coaching: Offer guidance and support to Queensland Rail management and employees on the effective application of Fitness for Work legislation, policies, and standards.
  • Coordinate Medical Assessments: Manage external providers to ensure high-quality medical assessments related to NHS compliance, Fitness for Work, and specific functional demands are documented and handled efficiently.
  • Liaise for Rehabilitation and Support: Collaborate with leaders, employees, and business partners to deliver rehabilitation, return-to-work, and early intervention support for physical and psychological injuries and illnesses.
  • Ensure Compliance and Case Management: Work closely with stakeholders to ensure adherence to NHS and fitness-for-duty standards, managing complex health cases affecting compliance and work fitness.
  • Promote Health and Wellbeing Initiatives: Coordinate and promote health and wellbeing projects, including vaccination programs and other wellness initiatives.
  • Develop Management Reports: Create and present timely reports demonstrating the effectiveness and compliance of Queensland Rail’s Health and Wellbeing frameworks.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Ensure accurate and confidential management of health, case management, and compliance records, including sensitive health files.
