The Occupational Health Advisor is a key position within the Health, Safety and Wellbeing division in providing support services to all levels of leadership and to our employees across Victoria. Utilising knowledge of health to develop and implement occupational health support programs for WorkSafe with a focus on early intervention, job connection and increasing engagement and participation.
- $117,386 per annum + Superannuation
- Full Time, Ongoing Position
- Geelong (Hybrid – 3 days per week in the office)
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Assist employees to work with their treating health professionals to develop documentation for the workplace that informs about their health condition and/or disability and how they may be best supported
- Work with stakeholders to address complex health related issues that may otherwise restrict the ability of employees to optimally engage in their work
- Support people leaders during recruitment to consider provided health assessments, provided information, risk assessments and coordinate associated workplace adjustment requests
- Working to support People Leaders to ensure the Occupational health support to their people meets operational considerations and needs
- Triage support needs of employees and People Leaders to appropriate resources both internal and external to the organisation
- Work collaboratively with the enabling functions of People and Culture and business to provide holistic support to employees
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Ability to liaise in a professional manner and tailor communication methods with diverse stakeholder groups including: Treaters, Agents, People Leaders, Employees, Employer groups and Union Representatives
- Understanding of occupational health with studies and associated experience in employer based health management
- Case management expertise and/or RTW coordination experience. Understanding of both physical and mental health issues related to work and the initiatives required to manage and prevent these, from an employer based perspective
- Understanding of the operational requirements in maintaining a serviced based operation including team based, multidisciplinary approach to occupational health care
- Tertiary qualified health professional

Utilising knowledge of health to develop and implement occupational health support programs for WorkSafe with a focus on early intervention, job connection and increasing engagement and participation.
Acknowledging WorkSafe’s responsibilities and position as a regulator in the Victorian Community, drive health innovation and research whilst supporting broader WorkSafe initiatives in occupational health.
This role will also involve some travel across Victoria when required.
