The Universal Group, recognized as one of Canada’s best-managed companies in 2023, has an exciting opportunity for a Occupational Health and Safety Advisor to join our Health and Safety team. Reporting to the Regional OHS Manager - Western Canada, the OHS Advisor ensuring the safety of traffic control personnel at work sites and strict adherence to transport guidelines, encompassing the Ministry of Transportation Traffic Management Manual, Worksafe OHS Regulations, and the company’s own OHS guidelines.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

• Certified as a Traffic Control Person (TCP) by a WorkSafe approved training provider. Experience working as a TCP is a strong asset.
• Class 5 Driver’s License.
• Experience in interpreting and applying BC’s Workers Comp Act, OHS Regulations, Policies, Guidelines, and Standards.
• BCCSA Certified COR Internal Audit or willingness to obtain.
• Level 2 First Aid or willingness to obtain.
• Diploma/Certificate and/or previous work experience in Occupational Health and Safety is an asset.
• Certification and/or work experience as a CSO or OFA is an asset.
• Experience with Health and Safety software such as Salus.
• Experience with Office 365 and G-Suite.
• Experience with Investigation.
