About the Role
The Occupational Health Lead at LNG Canada plays a crucial role in maintaining the health and safety of the workforce. This position typically requires a registered nurse with a bachelor’s degree in nursing and several years of experience in occupational health. The primary responsibilities include monitoring employee health, conducting health assessments, and managing injury and illness cases.
They are also tasked with developing and implementing health and safety programs with the collaboration of the Industrial Hygienist, ensuring compliance with health regulations, and providing emergency care when necessary. Additionally, the Health Lead (Occupational Health) may be involved in worker’s compensation cases, assisting in the management of claims, and coordinating with third-party administrators.
They must possess effective communication skills to effectively educate employees on health and safety practices and to promote a culture of wellness within the LNG Canada Organization. Leadership experience is often required, as this role may include supporting a team of First Aider at site that will enable the business positive outcomes for all employees by providing science-based Health expertise and being customer-centric. This will be through leveraging core competencies of health expertise, science, collaboration, and business intimacy.

Responsibilities:
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada (i.e., by way of Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work permit)
- Live in the beautiful District of Stikine (Kitimat/Terrace). For applicants located outside of the region, you are encouraged to explore what Kitimat has to offer in terms of lifestyle including schooling, local amenities, outdoor adventure, and housing, to ensure Kitimat is where you would like to call your new home.
- Know that this role is to start earliest January 7, 2025, to latest March 4, 2025.
- Schedule work 40 hrs./week M-F, in Kitimat Asset office
- Role may require availability outside regular hours of work to provide occupational health support in emergency situations.
- Are willing to comply with LNGC’s drug-free and harassment-free work environment and comply with all safety policies and procedures.
- Undergo a pre-placement medical assessment of your fitness for duty, a background check and Pre-Site Access testing for alcohol and specified drugs.
- Have a Valid Driver’s license.
- This role has one full time report (Health & WCB Advisor), and contractor when needed.
- Know that this is not a fly-in, fly-out rotation role.
