Description:

This role is within a unit where Surrey Police and Sussex Police work in collaboration, whilst remaining two separate legal entities/employers with different terms and conditions.
Both Surrey Police staff and Sussex Police staff are employed in this unit on their own force terms and conditions.
Successful candidates may be appointed on the terms and conditions of employment of either Surrey Police or Sussex Police, depending on organisational requirements. A discussion will be held with the successful candidate to confirm the details of location, salary, allowances and hours.

The Role & Key Responsibilities

It is our mission to identify and protect vulnerable people, prevent and respond to harm and keep people safe.
In this role you will be working as an Occupational Health Nurse Advisor (OHNA) in the Occupational Health, Fitness and Wellbeing Service (OHWS) delivering a professional Occupational Health service for employees, by working with the wider OH team to meet this expectation. To Ensuring that the service user needs are met, targets achieved, and that the highest standard of clinical care and service are provided as a case manager undertaking health assessments.
The OHNA role involves undertaking face to face and telephone clinics to ensure smooth service provision, undertaking case management, health assessments/surveillance and immunisations, providing evidence-based advice and providing clear concise reports as set out in our Service Level Agreements and His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services (HMICFRS).
You will be able to foster positive relationships with key stakeholders in the OHWS collaboration, including the wider OH team, and our collaborative partners we support (Surrey Fire & Rescue Service, and East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service) to help maintain good communications, and make recommendations for service improvements, where appropriate to the Clinical Lead and Head of Service.
The successful applicant will also help in the provision of robust processes to ensure that health assessments and health surveillance are provided, that that effective recall processes are in place. To also maintain a good knowledge of the latest legislative requirements, and Occupational Health guidelines and changes in practice, in line with the recognised professional bodies and maintain competencies in all tasks undertaken.
You may also be required to give presentations within the department, and to the services at large where a need is identified and assist in the development of presentations for this purpose.
Utilisation and experience of the OH database management system Cohort will be required to effectively input and recall data and complete reports.
