REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 12 diploma
- Occupational Health & Safety program certificate (such as BCIT) or equivalent educational background preferred
- Certificate or diploma in Office Administration or Records Management
- Intermediate First Aid certificate (formerly level 2)
- Basic working knowledge of health and safety legislation
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Familiarity with M3 software, an asset
Responsibilities:
- Provide support for the Company’s Health and Safety Program across Canada
- Provide administrative support to the OH&S team
- Prepare memos, letters, statistical reports, minutes for meetings and other correspondence as required
- Draft internal communications such as quarterly updates on OH & S to increase awareness, including maintaining physical OH & S notice boards throughout the facility
- Assist and support the base Safety Committees (YLW, YHM, YVR, Southport and Flight Safety, etc.) through minute-taking, drafting agendas, following up of action items, and other general communication support
- Track data relating to safety drills
- Administer and update specific Health and Safety Plans (Occupational Health & Safety Manual, etc.)
- Provide quarterly incident reporting
- Act as First Aid support to their base
- Track and monitor monthly inspections, calibrations, First Aid station needs, confirming checklists are completed for each building, and tracking data of fire extinguisher expiration dates
- Assist Training Services Group when needed to maintain lists of required training (First Aid, WHMIS, Fall Protection, Confined Space, Respirator, etc.) updating crew lists and booking training
- Ensure employees have prescribed safety materials, equipment, and clothing necessary for the job, with support administration, including assistance in ordering materials
- Gather information, submit and track injury reports and WCB Claims (WorkSafeBC Form 7) and assist with claims reporting on a quarterly basis
- Maintain Personal Injury Reports (PIR) database
- Escalate any safety related concerns
- Provide administrative and reception support in Human Resources and Flight Operations when required
- Assist as required with the Disability Management Program and Return to Work programs
- Respond to daily Health and Safety issues and questions
- Other duties as assigned
