Description:
Pfizer are currently recruiting for an Occupational Hygiene Specialist based in the EHS Department of the Ringaskiddy API Plant. This position will report directly to the Process Safety and Occupational Hygiene Team Leader and will be supporting elements of Occupational Hygiene on site.
Main Areas of Responsibility
- Ensure all regulatory requests relating to chemical support including REACH and DGSA are completed on time and the site is fully compliant. Support New Product/Material Introduction as necessary.
- Carry out occupational hygiene monitoring program including chemical exposure and physical agents (noise, vibration) monitoring.
- Provide Occupational Hygiene training to support the above programs
- Support PPE Program by carrying out RPE audits
- Ensure Occupational Hygiene Monitoring, timely reporting and feedback of results to relevant functions.
- Support new product introduction to the site by carrying out assessments and providing feedback on proposed chemistry from research and development
- Support safe large-scale manufacturing of processes on a dynamic site by providing guidance on containment equipment and strategies that should be employed based on site and corporate standards.
- Co-ordinate REACH program – notifications, record keeping, tonnage tracking, SCC Documentation – and audit as necessary.
- Support Corporate Chemical Registration Program as members of Corporate teams including provision to training and auditing. Support Corporate Occupational Hygiene program as requested.
- SOP preparation, review and provision of appropriate training as necessary.
- Support laboratory safety by attendance of safety meetings, incident assessment and investigation as necessary, facilitation of risk assessments as necessary, action closure, audit or lab programs to support EHS systems audits.
Qualifications
The successful candidates will:
- Preferably be educated to honours degree level (or higher) in Chemistry, biochemistry or other related discipline
- Experience in Industrial Safety, especially the manufacturing facilities areas
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Interacts effectively with a wide variety of areas and a broad spectrum of people with diverse backgrounds, and accountabilities
- Good knowledge of computer operation and MS Office, such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
