Description:

We are looking for applications from highly motivated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist who is committed to delivering patient-focused care to work in our Memory assessment service in Brent. The post includes comprehensive assessment of a patient’s functioning including neuropsychiatric assessment. Specific to assessment the Occupational Therapist (OT) will utilise MOHO evidence-based assessment tools in order to establish a baseline functional assessment from which recommendations can determine further on going care and treatment to enable optimum functioning.
The post holder will manage a case load of service users who have been referred to the memory service for a suspected dementia, using evidence based and recovery principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate treatment.
We are therefore looking for applicants who either have experience working with Older Adults or Memory services or have a good foundation of transferable skills and an interest to develop in this area.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a fixed 12 month post in our friendly Memory assessment service in Brent. The successful applicant will be based at Fairfield’s House in Kingsbury. This is an ideal opportunity for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to develop their neuropsychiatric skills and gain valuable experience.

To provide the Brent Memory Service (BMS) with an Occupational therapy service and expertise; this will include individual and group work, assessment including neuropsychiatric assessment, intervention and evaluation in accordance with the College of OT Code of Ethics.
To work as an integrated member of the memory service responding to referrals and offering assessment, support with diagnosis, liaison with other agencies.
To provide clinical leadership for junior/unqualified staff and students through supervision and appraisal as required.
