Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the Rheumatology Team in Swansea Bay UHB, managing long term conditions including rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, ME and Chronic fatigue Syndrome.
The post will allow the successful applicant to provide specialist assessments, goal directed intervention and rehabilitation to patients utilising a wide range of self-management techniques, remote interventions and splinting to maintain occupational performance.
You will be required to work closely with MDT colleagues and have an opportunity to contribute to the development of a high-quality, evidence-based occupational therapy service. You will have an opportunity to help shape and promote the service, providing you with a unique opportunity to engage in service development and change.
You will need excellent communication and organisational skills and sound clinical knowledge, but enthusiasm and the potential to develop these within the post will also be valued. As such, you will be provided with variety of opportunities to develop your professional practice and clinical skills.

To manage a defined caseload within specialist area, using evidence based /client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the outcomes of intervention in the community maintaining associated records. To organise this efficiently and effectively with regard to clinical priorities and use of time.
To ensure clinical records are kept to agreed standards and report accurately to others.
To work in partnership with clients, carers and the multidisciplinary team to identify relevant goals.
To provide leadership and supervision for junior staff, as delegated by supervisor /Team Leader.
To regularly supervise Occupational Therapy students on practice placements.
To participate in CPD and develop skills and knowledge through participation in the Band 6 Development Programme and other developmental activities.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
You will be required to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service, including a 7 day shift pattern, with extended working hours covering 365 days of the year.
