Responsibilities:
ROLE OVERVIEW
Working as a Seasonal and Casual Ocean Lifeguard, you will be an integral part of the team managing our beaches across the summer season - Monday 16 September 2024 until Sunday 27 April 2025
This role makes a difference to our community by ensuring the safety and wellbeing of it’s community members enjoying our beaches. We are looking for individuals who are dedicated, determined and demonstrate a proactive approach in applying themselves to the provision of lifeguarding, emergency response and beach supervision functions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Educate our community and promote ocean safety.
- Respond to emergency situations with confidence and efficiency.
- Take proactive actions to minimise risk to the community.
- Organise daily maintenance, care, repair and security of amenities, plant, equipment and other assets assigned to or utilised by lifeguards within area of responsibility.
- Enforce compliance with state and local law.
Your Profile
The successful candidate will:
- Seasonal - Certificate III in Public Safety – Aquatic Search & Rescue (or willing to enrol and attain qualification within the first three (3) months of employment), Current First Aid certificate (HLTAID011), Current Advanced Resuscitation certificate (HLTAID015), Current RMS Class C drivers licence, Current RMS Boating & PWC licence and NSW Working with Children Check.
- Casual - Certificate II in Public Safety – Aquatic Search & Rescue / Bronze Medallion, Current First Aid certificate (HLTAID011), Current Advanced Resuscitation certificate (HLTAID015), Current RMS Class C drivers licence, and NSW Working with Children Check.
- Have demonstrated extensive experience working in the beach environment and have demonstrated experience working in a beach and/or aquatic environment,
- Be professional, motivated and customer focussed

- PACKAGE AND HOURS OF WORK:Seasonal - $76,424 gross p.a. plus 11.5% superannuation. Temporary Full Time, 38 hours per week, 9 day fortnight. Available to work over 7 day spread. First Aid allowance and weekend penalty rates paid for weekends and public holidays worked.Casual - $48.34 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation. Casual shifts available over 7 day spread to support the operational needs of the Ocean Lifeguard Team.
Please note: As selected applicants progress through the recruitment process, a requirement to participate in fitness testing (800m pool swim & ocean lifeguard mission) will take place Sunday 1 September 2024 from 8:00 am
