Hiring Unit:
Graduate Studies, Schulich School of Music
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Manager of Student Services, Schulich School of Music, the incumbent may perform some or all of the listed general administration functions. These functions are of high complexity and the incumbent performs them using general instruction.
- Assist in organizing and scheduling Exam Recitals for graduate students
- Follow up with examiners regarding assessment and evaluation
- Collects data and prepare entries for payroll
- Prepares letters for approval (could be for scholarships, immigration papers, etc).
- Assists with the follow-up of missing documents from students.
- Email correspondence, respond to enquiries, follows up as needed
- Direct graduate students to appropriate resources
Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities
- Demonstrated ease and flexibility with technological applications with a proven ability to work using MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Great verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Good decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated experience providing support for various administrative activities and dealing with confidential information.
- Organized with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to receive and relay information with accuracy, work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of the McGill University, Schulich School of Music graduate programs is an asset.
- English and French, spoken and written.
