Description:

Magdalen Chambers is one of the largest barristers’ chambers in the West Country with over 40 members. Our work covers all areas of civil law and family law, providing our clients with a wide variety of legal services ranging from personal injury, employment and land disputes, to divorce and child protection issues. We are looking to recruit a bright, well organised person to join our busy team of clerks and to support our barristers and senior staff. As a member of the team, you will be the link between our barristers and their clients, working closely with both to ensure that a high level of customer care is provided at all times.
The role involves:
Managing the diaries of our barristers.

Taking bookings from prospective clients.

  • Dealing by telephone with solicitors and other clients.
  • Liaising with our barristers to ensure that they have everything they need to deal with their caseload.
  • General office duties.
  • Candidates will need to have the ability to:
  • work to deadlines;
  • within a small team; and
  • cope well under pressure.

Excellent organisational skills, good numeracy and spelling are essential as well as a good telephone manner.
Full training will be provided, including general training about the areas of law we cover and the needs of our clients and barristers.
Competitive salary and terms including bonus scheme, details on application. Potential for some home working at the discretion of the managers.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £25,000.00-£26,500.00 per year
