Description:

The Bobcaygeon and Area Chamber of Commerce is looking for a dynamic person to fill the position of Office Manager. This part time, permanent position will report to the President of the Board of Directors. The ideal candidate will have some experience running an office and also engaging with business owners. Your duties will be diverse and multi-faceted. This position will be responsible for managing the day to day operations of the Chamber of Commerce, as well as working closely with Service Ontario.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Post secondary education with some business experience
  • A passion for communications and business promotion
  • Possess time and project management skills
  • Strong communication skills including writing and speaking
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Confident using Google Docs, Facebook, instagram, Wild Apricot (preferred but not required)
  • Work well independently and under pressure while managing multiple priorities

Responsibilities:

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the office including incoming emails, invoices, correspondence
  • Social media posts for members and communicate other information as needed
  • Supervise and collaborate with organization staff ( ServiceOntario and summer staff)
  • Represent the Chamber within the community, Chambers/BIA, community groups
  • Work alongside the City of Kawartha Lakes Economic Development Team
  • Help to coordinate community events in cooperation with community committees
  • Create member events including the AGM
  • Participate in Board meetings
  • Promote Chamber Membership and manage member renewals
  • Coordinate the development of promotional materials
  • Submit and manage grant applications
  • Along with the board review and approve contracts for services
  • Other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors
