Description:

SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

Greet and assist patients and visitors to MIND, leaving all individuals with a professional positive experience. Facilitates effective and efficient satellite office functions.

This position utilizes the following skills in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making to achieve organizational objectives, analyzing situations accurately and taking effective action. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, policy-making bodies, third-party payers, patients, and the public.

  • Organization skills, appointing assignments, achieving goals and objectives. Exercising good judgment and discretion in developing, applying, interpreting, and coordinating departmental policies and procedures. Skill in the understanding and implementation of computerized information systems.
  • Abilities to assume responsibility and exercise authority over assigned work functions. Ability to establish and maintain quality control standards. Ability to organize and integrate organizational priorities and deadlines. Effective communication of information, policies, and/or procedures in a manner easily understood.
  • Performs any other pertinent duties as assigned by supervisor

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Satellite Office to include the following duties:
  • Supports the Medical Receptionist in a health care facility.
  • Supports MA’s, Techs and providers.
  • Assists in training with new hires, perform annual reviews on assigned employees as well as disciplinary action and write ups, approve paid time off on assigned employees, and ensure proper coverage at each shift.
  • A solid understanding of the medical environment and knowledge of its clerical functions, including collecting co-pays, unpaid balances, and provides receipt to patient. Records all financial activity in EHR and accounts for all transactions completed on shift. Patient account reconciliation to ensure accuracy.
  • Requires knowledge in the following areas: policies and procedures specific to our practice to sufficiently direct its operations, to provide effective patient care, maximize M.A.’s efficiently, and general administration of the physician care site.
