Job title: Receptionist
Reports to: Accounting Manager
Supervisory responsibilities: None.
Summary/objective: Steel Craft Technologies (SCT) is looking for a master multi-tasker with excellent communication skills and an upbeat attitude. Candidates should be able to assist management and all visitors to the company by handling office tasks, providing polite and professional assistance via phone, mail, and e-mail, and generally being a helpful and positive presence in the workplace.
To be successful as a Receptionist, candidates should be professional, polite, and attentive while also being accurate. They should always be prepared and responsive, willing to meet each challenge directly. Receptionists must be comfortable with computers, general office tasks, and excel at both verbal and written communication.

Essential functions:

  • Handle office tasks, such as filing, generating reports, and reordering supplies
  • Screen phone calls and routing callers to the appropriate party
  • Use a computer to generate reports and conduct research
  • Greet and assist visitors
  • Maintain polite and professional communication via phone, e-mail, and mail
  • Anticipate the needs of others in order to ensure their seamless and positive experience
  • Order office and shop supplies and maintain supply cabinets

Required competency, education, and experience:

  • Prior administrative experience
  • Knowledge of multi-line phone systems
  • Knowledge of basic office machines including copier, fax machines, and calculators
  • Pleasant phone manners and friendly personality
  • Excellent computer skills, especially typing and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Attention to detail
  • Desire to be proactive and create a positive experience for others

Work environment: Office setting in a manufacturing environment

Physical Demands:

  • Spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers
  • Move from sitting to standing positions effortlessly
  • Work on repetitive tasks
  • Use hands and fingers to handle, control or feel objects
  • Use eyes to see details of objects that are less than a few feet away
  • Speak clearly so listeners can understand
  • Understand the speech of another person
  • Bend to file and maintain files
  • Move or lift 5-10 pounds

Position type and expected hours of work: Part time, Monday-Friday 8 am to 12 pm. However, hours and schedule is flexible and can be discussed.
