Job description
Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Offshore HSES Adviser, based Offshore on a 2/2 rotation.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing guidance and advice to enable the Offshore Installation Manager to remain compliant with all legislation regarding Health, Safety & Environment, policies and procedures.
  • Engaging the offshore workforce to ensure company safety expectations are understood and lived out.
  • Ensuring incidents and events are accurately recorded and investigated and associated actions tracked through to closure.
  • Ensuring that all activities are carried out in a safe manner complying with all regulatory requirements, legislation and company HSES Procedures
  • Supports offshore to understand and implement HSES procedures, feedbacks improvements to ensure all relevant legislation is complied with.
  • Ensure consistent application of policies and procedures across shifts.
  • Ensures pragmatic risk management solutions are implemented to deliver safe and efficient operations.
  • Lead / participate in audits and liaise with the Assurance Team to ensure delivery of the audit programmes.
  • Demonstrate active safety leadership at the work face, build trust with workforce and understand how work is done.
  • Knowledge of process plant hazards at both an individual and plant level.
  • Lead Offshore delivery and training for HSE Programmes including: Learning Organisation, Personal Safety Involvement, Life Saving Rules, Safety Focus Days, Management Safety Reviews and ER Planning.
  • Liaise with Environmental and Occupational Hygiene Advisors to ensure all elements of relevant legislation are complied with.
  • Ensures that the OIM and asset team are appraised of current regulation & guidance.
  • Proactive support to the platform management team and offshore safety representatives. Provides a focal point for communication with the offshore safety representatives.
  • Supports assets with Synergi / COMET providing coaching as required and lead investigations when requested.
  • Monitoring quality and accuracy of incident investigations, actions and close out, identify trends and proposing solutions.
  • Offshore Focal Point for Corporate & Regulatory Inspections.
  • Participate in emergency response support as required.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • NEBOSH Diploma / BOHS Dip OH / or equivalents (Preferable)
  • A corporate member of a professional body which requires ongoing CPD.
  • Fully conversant with Synergi, COMET and other HSES systems required to effectively carry out the role.
  • Understands Major Accident Prevention and can identify improvement areas.
  • Detailed understanding of risk assessment / risk management processes.
  • Ability to collaborate, listen and coach personnel.
  • Must hold the UK required offshore certification
  • Experience working on offshore walk to work campaigns advantageous
